Hints of Winter

First snow of the season

I arrived just after sunrise to complete silence. The lake was grey and still, mist lay on the water, and the mountain was out of sight. A dead snag stood in the water and two pines held a small island. As the light climbed, the fog thinned and Mt. Bachelor came through, first as a faint white edge, then as the first snow of the season against blue sky.

Eight frames from one morning.
